Do You Believe In Love At First Sight?

Yoga & Love: Do you Believe in Love at First Sight?

I am just curious…

Have any of you ever experienced “LOVE at first sight”? The moment when you met someone or saw someone from a distance. Maybe you saw this person on the train, in a pub, at the store and just couldn’t get them out of your mind?

You know what I mean… when they look like they have the “whole package” that we envision is everything we ever dreamed of having?

If you have experienced this moment, what took place if anything?

I am not talking about “LUST” at first sight as I think we all have those moments frequently!

Yoga and Love Expert Review: In a survey conducted on, is true love possible on first sight, surprisingly, 33% of people believed in it. Is it because of the obvious enchantment, magic of love at first sight or is there some basis to it?

Do You Believe In Love At First Sight?

Diane, an ambitious 25-year-old, was into casual dating. She was serious, spiritual, committed individual. She had met many men at work and other places, she found many of them interesting but none the right fit. She mentioned to me how important it was to have a spiritual connection with a person before encouraging thoughts of being with that person. She had recently met a guy who fit the bill perfectly but she felt no soul connection.

I explained to her, she was putting too much pressure on herself to feel that connection immediately. At times, when people start meditating, or start exploring their soul, they expect fantastical experiences. Fantastical experiences do occur in rare instances but a true soul experience is subtle and it is a joy that never leaves you.

To feel the connection does not require forced effort as much as change in consciousness, perspective and expectation. Allow yourself to say that you will not feel that connection all the time, but be ready and open to it. Being consciously aware at all times is being in touch with your soul, it is not stressing and twisting nature’s arm to have a Soul experience.

As great Yogis would say, no two grains of sand are alike same way, everybody is different our karmic design are different. We react to things according to our own conditioning. Just like we all have unique thumbprints, some could feel an instant connection while others may not. The ingenuity of Yoga approach to love is to embrace, be flexible and stay open to love.

Dr. Ian Stevenson, a professor of medicine in the department of parapsychology scientifically did prove reincarnation which the Yogis have been declaring for thousands of years.  If we take this view-point, there is a possibility, a gesture, a look from your partner could kindle subconscious memories from past incarnations to make you fall in love at first sight, to those lucky few who experience that magic,  please do share your story with us.

For all the attention our story has gotten, I must confess that Deypika and my story was hardly love at first sight. The only feelings she had for me was of a science nerd.
